Modern sliding doors are a beautiful additional to any home.
New sliding doors improve the appearance of your home by replacing the old ones that are showing their age. Another improvement is providing a clear view to the outside so that you can see the beauty of your landscape. Contemporary sliding doors really brighten your perspective on the world.
Most older sliding doors have gaps around their frames that cause cold drafts in winter and permit climate-controlled air to escape in summer. New doors have tight seals that keep the refreshing air inside when it’s hot and block the frigid outside air in winter.
Modern sliding doors have better tracking systems so that they aren’t likely to fall down when they’re opened. Old tracking strips were easy to bend, which made them unsafe for families and children. They were also a tripping hazard for unsuspecting guests or relatives.
Weatherproof seals around your modern sliding doors benefit your home by keeping climate-controlled air inside and preventing wintry winds or summertime heat from invading your living space. The large glass doors permit the sun to warm your home in the winter, which translates into lower heating bills every year.
Beat-up sliding doors that have seen better days will definitely detract from the appearance of your home when you’re ready to sell. It’s likely that prospective buyers would expect a discount if they have to replace the old sliding doors as soon as they take possession of the home.
When we remove your current sliding glass doors, we dispose of the components properly. We recycle whatever parts we can. Your new sliding doors are built with recyclable materials that can be used repeatedly so that they won’t harm the environment.
Explore many products and design options during the initial consultation, and have our professionals take your project from start to finish quickly and smoothly.
We inspect your existing situation and design your new sliding door project with you. By working together, we will determine the best sliding doors for your home and the correct installation method for your requirements.
Once we are sure what renovations are necessary, we’ll help you to select a sliding door design that fulfills all of your needs. That way, you can be certain that you’re getting the best sliding door for your home.
Compare several different price ranges, and select the options that you would like. The cost of these upgrades will vary depending on the material, hardware and features as you proceed through the higher end selections.

We met Gary Rawding, owner of Symphony Home Improvement, at a home show (the first one we ever attended). We set up an appointment to meet with him, that day, and are now the happy owners of new white CompositWood windows. From the beginning, our experience was a good one. Gary spent approximately four hours explaining the different types of windows, and the technology used in the windows composition. In the end, we chose CompositWood windows because we felt that they were the best option. The installation crew came on the day scheduled and were on time. They each introduced themselves and were extremely courteous throughout the day and a half that was spent putting in 20 windows ( including one very large one). They did a very thorough job and did not leave any hint of a mess. They were very professional. When the job was done, Gary came to inspect the windows to make sure that all was well. It was. We are now considering replacing our front door, and whom are we going to call-Gary Rawding of Symphony Home Improvement! On a scale of 1-10, I would give all involved a 15!
Symphony replaced all the windows in our home this spring. From the moment Gary came to our home until the final walk through, Symphony was professional, courteous and a pleasure to work with. Gary sat with my husband and I for hours to make sure we knew exactly what we were getting and to personalize the plan for our windows. Our windows were in awful condition–old rusted and warped. Gary explained why that had happened and what the best products would be so that jt wouldn’t happen in the future. Once our order was placed our measurements were promptly taken and order was placed. Symphony communicated with us each step of the way so we knew the status of our repair. The day of installation our installers arrived on time as scheduled. They were extremely polite and took extra care to be neat and tidy–my house was cleaner when they finished! They took care to be careful of our flower garden as well which was important to me. The quality of the new Windows is fantastic–they look and feel amazing. They are solid and sturdy–no breezes when these babies are closed. The screens are tight in each window with no gaps for bugs to get through. They open and close easily and have child proof locks on each. The installers made sure I knew how to work the windows and Gary double checked on our final walk through. Our house looks and feels 20 years younger and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you Gary and the Symphony crew 🙂
After the brutal winter and some serious ice damns, we had several leaky windows that needed replacing. Symphony home improvement gave us a no hassle home visit and incredible price. Gary, the owner, took the time to talk about the technology involved in all of the different windows, but was never pushy about a specific brand or time limited deal. Even after the manufacturer had problems with filling the order correctly, Gary jumped all over it and really helped us get what we wanted. On the day of install, the crew (who couldn’t have been nicer) showed up early and had the old windows out and new ones in an hour ahead of schedule. Additionally, since the install we have had some questions and Gary has always been incredibly attentive to whatever we need to know. All in all, a great experience that will most likely lead to more windows from Symphony in the future.
Gary Rawding came to our house and explained more about windows and installation than I ever knew in my 60 years. And he was spot one!. He helped me select basement windows that vent my dryer, provide security, provide cross ventilation when I need it….all installed by a very professional and skilled staffer. Not the cheapest, but not overpriced like NewPro…..a great window installed perfectly at a fair price.
Great! I needed 8 windows replaced, and the job was done in a few hours. Love the new windows. Gary was very helpful and went above and beyond to insure that i was pleased with my purchase.
The short answer is YES! But, there are some trade offs. Depending on the door you choose, there may be a loss in efficiency ratings on doors with internal mini blinds. Servicing Mini Blinds can also be problematic. Getting help to weigh the pros and cons of your specific home will help to ensure you make the right choice. We work with this all the time, let us help you with your choice.
Patio doors have come a long way in the last 20 years. The aluminum doors in many houses are a constant source of annoyance and energy loss. A new door will operate with buttery smooth opening and closing. Enjoy the safety and security of double strength tempered glass and a secure 2 or 3 point locking mechanism. Most doors will come with a keyed lock as well as optional foot locks for added security. Aluminum is a exceptional conductor of heat, your aluminum door can be draining the heat from your home all day and night, creating drafts and an uncomfortable home. A new insulated door will be an exceptional improvement.
This is is one of the most common questions asked in our meetings. Each situation depends on several factors, but first we need to see what kind of space will be used. French doors tend to take up a lot of living space due to the inswing of the doors. If this is going to be a door that gets a lot of use, check the interior space dimensions to see if your willing to sacrifice that space. Other important factors include the energy efficiency of the space, the look and style of the room, and the security of the area. You may even consider an entry door as well. One of our trained experts will be happy to help you decide and walk you through all your available options.
Doors tend to run in standard size increments of 5’, 6’ and 8’ doors. We can also fabricate 3 panel doors in 9’ and 12’ sizes. 4 panel doors are standard in 12’ sizes. We can also custom make any size or style door your home may require. When you have access to several manufacturers you have the choice to pick the perfect design for your home.
There are some amazing products available right now. Many times we recommend sliding doors that look similar (or better) to french doors to improve the looks and beauty of the room, without intruding on the interior space.
